World First Aid Day

On World First Aid Day; 3B Training would like to raise awareness of the importance of first aid training and how having those skills could help save a life.

What is World First Aid Day all about?

World First Aid Day is a yearly event which looks to raise awareness of the significance of first aid training in preventing injuries and helping to save lives.

What exactly is first aid?

World First Aid Day 2016First aid is the method of providing assistance to someone who is experiencing a sudden illness or injury. The main purpose of first aid is to be the first action in working to preserve a life or prohibit the condition from getting worse. First aid trained personnel can deal with an emergency situation until a medical personnel arrives.

Can I perform first aid without training?

In an emergency situation, many people would feel the need to react and try to help and improvise. If the person attempting to perform first aid doesn’t know what they are doing they may make it worse. That is why first aid training is imperative for everyone young or old.

What training courses are available?

Who you are; who you work with and the amount of risk in your working environment will all be factors in choosing a course.

The Emergency First Aid course is intended for those who want to become accredited as a first aider. If you are looking for a basic level of first aid, work in a low-risk environment or if you don’t have a large budget for training this is the course for you.

The First Aid at Work is a much more detailed course which is three days long. Delegates who work in a high-risk environment attend the course. In addition, anyone who is involved in some kind of health and safety role also attends the course.

AED Training allows the delegate to develop their skills with an automatic external defibrillator. Delegates use the AED machine as a diagnosis for a cardiac arrest. First Aiders use AED as an alternative to CPR.

Paediatric First Aid training is a two-day course which teaches the delegate how to administer first aid to children.  This course is ideal for nursery nurses, nannies, childminders, school staff and anybody who works with or has children.
