Telephone numbers including mobile contact details.

Email address & professional LinkedIn address.

If you have valid driver’s license and use of own vehicle.

The font should Arial or Tahoma and be around size 10-12.

PROFILE

This section of the CV template should include a description about you. Specify your most valuable skills and how you will transfer these skills to suit the advertised job description. You should mention how the business will benefit from employing you. For example:

I am an excellent timekeeper. This reflects well on me when I am attending meetings with potential clients. It expresses a professional image. I am extremely enthusiastic and possess a motivating can-do attitude. I am very confident. My high-quality customer service levels can help your business to achieve its goals. Potential clients will be impressed with my skills and telephone manner.  This will help result in an increase in turnover and sales made.

SKILLS

List any IT programs that you are competent in using and how this will help if you are chosen for the job role. If you have a lot of experience in a particular computer software be sure to mention this here.

EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE

Remember you should start with your most recent employment first and work backwards. If you have had a period of unemployment then you should include details of training/voluntary work.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

List any qualifications gained.

School/University/Academy/College Name.

Dates that you attended.

 

List any further progress training you have taken part in. Note how this has helped you to keep your skills up to date and refreshed your existing knowledge.

Employers will not spend more than a few minutes reading a CV. Unless it is particularly well presented. Experience accounts for a lot when it comes to a CV.  Most skills are used and utilized during time spent working. If you don’t have a lot of experience don’t worry. Make sure you explain how you would love to be given the chance to gain experience in the role advertised.

 

INTERESTS

Include brief details of interests if you have the space on your CV template, however, avoid phrases like ‘partying’ etc. List any fundraisers you have taken part in and how you use your spare time to develop yourself as a person.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

  • This section should include a list of 4-8 achievements using the star method and should be presented in bullet point format.
  • You should include details of a situation you were involved in that resulted in a positive outcome for your employer. You should describe the tasks involved in that situation, talk about the various actions taken to improve the results.
  • Employers want to know that you have solved problems similar to theirs and that you achieved the results for which they are looking.
  • Example: Met and exceeded set targets. Increase sales profits by 6% for three months.
  • Received employee of the month 6 times for Excellent Customer Service at (company name). List references that you have received. If you have any positive feedback from previous employers on business associates please list this here.
  • References should contain dates, referee/company name and contact details (email and telephone number).
