EUSR cards play a crucial role in the energy and utility sector. Without one, you can’t perform your role, as it’s required to access operational sites.
Unlike some other accreditations, EUSR accreditations expire, which means your card is only valid for a set period of time.
The SHEA Gas scheme is valid for five years, and the EUSR Excavation, National Water Hygiene and SHEA Water are valid for three. To allow yourself to continue working and renew your card, you must book a course before your card’s expiry date.
This blog walks you through the steps to renew your EUSR card, making the process simple and quick.
If you are considering renewing your EUSR card, it’s likely because it allows you to continue carrying out your role in the utility sector, and it is also a requirement from your employer.
But what’s the reason for the card having an expiry date? Some accreditations need renewing to make sure that individuals are kept up-to-date with any industry changes. This ensures that the knowledge is up to date and that everyone who has completed the course is aligned.
Let’s find out how to renew your EUSR card, presented in clear, manageable steps.
Look at your current EUSR card and take note of the expiry date. It is best to be prepared and start the renewal process a few months before the card runs out.
Firstly, you can begin the process of renewing your EUSR Card via our website. You need to choose the EUSR course that is applicable to your role and matches your previous certification.
You can find the course you need via the search bar at the top right of our site. or by going to ‘Training Courses’, then selecting ‘Civils & Utilities Training Courses’ from the drop-down.
Once you have selected the course you need, you can safely check out. You will need to provide your personal details and any other information required to complete your enrollment.
Depending on which course you choose depends on the delivery method. If you are attending a course at one of our 3B venues, make sure you arrive in enough time before your course starts – planning your route to the venue can help with this.
Courses such as the EUSR Excavation course might require PPE; read any information on what you need before the course. If you’re doing the course online, have a proper device ready and find a quiet place to take part.
Once you have successfully completed the course and any assessments required to pass the course, you can now renew your EUSR card.
Do this by logging into your EUSR account and submitting a renewal application, making sure all your personal and course information is up to date.
Upload and attach your course completion certificate to show you have passed, and if required, pay any applicable fees.
Once your application is approved, your renewed EUSR card will either be sent to your registered address or made available digitally, depending on the option you selected.
Your renewed card confirms your continued competence and compliance with EUSR standards. Keep it safe and carry it as required for workplace or regulatory purposes.
