The term “basic” refers to the type of scaffold inspections the course covers — focusing on standard scaffold structures built to recognised designs, not complex or bespoke structures. It does not mean that the course is aimed at beginners.
You need at least 2 years of experience working with scaffolding because the course assumes you already have a solid understanding of scaffold components, how scaffolds are erected, and general site practices. The course is designed to build on this experience by teaching you how to carry out inspections safely and in line with regulations and safe standards.
