The CITB Health and Safety Awareness Course is a one day training course for new entrants and existing workers within the construction and civil engineering industry.
By completing this course, you will gain a solid understanding of health and safety, as well as your responsibilities and legal duties within the sectors.
The CITB Health and Safety Awareness Course is a minimum requirement to apply for a CSCS Green Labourer Card, which allows you to legally work on a construction site.
If you are new to the construction and civil engineering sector, this course will give you all the foundation health and safety knowledge you will need to work safely on-site, or it will act as a refresher if you need to renew your certification.
This CITB health and safety awareness course covers the following topics (for the full list of topics covered in this training, keep reading):
The health and safety training is highly interactive, delivered through a range of group work, discussions and presentations.
This course can be delivered in the following ways:
We provide classroom based CITB Health and Safety Awareness courses (also known as CITB HSA) in our nationwide training venues. The course is delivered in a traditional classroom environment with a trainer and up to 20 delegates.
We have multiple public dates scheduled throughout the year, which means delegates can book in for themselves or companies can book on behalf of their employees. You can book public classroom courses over the phone or online.
Remote Health and Safety Awareness courses are delivered online via a virtual classroom using Zoom. The key benefit of this is that it eliminates the need to travel to attend the course, saving time and money.
Delegates remotely join the course using the link provided, either from home or in the office. However, they will need a computer or laptop with a screen, camera, microphone and access to the internet to attend.
The course is delivered by a live trainer who covers the same content as they would in a classroom environment. Delegates are provided with a downloadable digital copy of the coursebook, and the final exam is completed online.
Like the in-person classroom courses, there will be up to 12 delegates on the course at any one time, all of whom will be able to see each other and interact via video or webchat.
The remote CITB Health & Safety Awareness course is available to book online or over the phone and we have multiple public remote learning dates where it’s possible to book one or multiple spaces.
We can arrange for the CITB Health and Safety Awareness to be delivered as an in-house course specifically for your delegates. This is done via remote learning at one of our venues or a venue of your choosing, such as your office board room or a local conference centre.
In-house training is a popular option for larger companies as it can be delivered on-site, and delegates can interact and discuss company-specific examples during the training.
Please note: There must be a minimum of 4 delegates and no more than 12 delegates.
If you would prefer to take the course at your own pace, without a trainer from the comfort of your own home, the CITB HSA eCourse may be the perfect option for you.
