NVQ Level 5 in Controlling Lifting Operations is a qualification you can use to show that you are competent in planning lifting activities in your role. Anyone who plans the preparation of site and work activities will also benefit from this level 5 NVQ.
You will develop your knowledge of executing lifting operations and working within good practices and regulations. As a result, you will finish this NVQ level 5 feeling more qualified and competent in your role.
NOTE: You will need approx. 2 years of experience in the role related to this NVQ, and currently be working in a relevant role.
Construction operatives looking to obtain the Blue CPCS card or Blue Competent Operator card should enrol on this NVQ Level 5.
By having this card, you will prove that you are competent and qualified at controlling lifting operations.
This Level 5 NVQ includes the following mandatory units:
To pass the NVQ, you are required to complete each of the units by providing the relevant evidence.
Once you have completed all the units, the assessor will review the portfolio and provide feedback.
After you have responded to the feedback, the assessor will send the portfolio to an IQA, who will decide if the NVQ is complete.
Upon enrolment
You will be given an assessor. The assessor will work with you to build a portfolio of evidence via our ePortfolio system Bud.
They will also arrange a remote or on-site induction
The induction is used to plan out how you will gather the relevant evidence to complete the course.
The assessor will also regularly review your progression to ensure that you are keeping on track.
You will be assessed on-site through various methods
Such as observations, written questions, evidence generated from the workplace, professional discussion, and witness testimonials.
