Utility Strike Avoidance Group

Ensure work safety best practices on the vital services and utilities

Utility strikes are one of the biggest health and safety hazards across the Highways industry. Utility strikes occur once a day on average across the sector.

The Utility Strike Avoidance Group (USAG) is a collective group of over 400 utility asset owners, industry groups, and contractors. USAG seeks to ensure the highest standards of safety and best practicer when carrying out work on the vital services.

In particular, the USAG helps professionals carrying out work on vital services to avoid disrupting supplies − to households and business − through accidental strikes on utilities in the ground.

The USAG is free to join and there is no fee for signing the Charter or using the best practice tool-kit.
