ABRASIVE WHEELS SAFETY ELEARNING COURSE CONTENT

There are a number of different types of abrasive wheels, each designed for a different purpose, such as cutting, shaping, removing sharp edges or cleaning materials.

In this first section, we look at the dangers, laws, legislation and responsibilities of both the employer and employee when it comes to the operation of abrasive wheels.

Type of Wheel

In the second section, we look at the British Standard System of marking and identifying wheels. This covers the display of supplier, dimensions, restrictions on use and operating speeds.

Choosing the Right Wheel

Choosing the correct abrasive wheel for the job is important as getting it wrong could cause damage to materials or poor quality work, and also has the potential to result in injury.
