NVQ Level 2 in Plastering (Construction) – Solid
The NVQ Level 2 in Plastering Solid is a competence-based qualification for learners who have a plastering role in the construction sector. The qualification is used to show that the delegate is knowledgable and competent in their role.
How long does it take to complete the NVQ?
The course length is dependant on how quickly the learner can gather the relevant evidence.
Who should enrol on to the Plastering NVQ?
Plasterers who work within the construction industry who are looking to obtain their Blue CSCS Card or Skilled Worker card.
Is the course accredited?
The NVQ can be either ProQual or Pearson Edexcel accredited.
Learners from across the country can enrol onto an NVQ with 3B Training. Learners or companies booking on their behalf can book an NVQ via our website online or over the phone.
Once they have been registered, we will appoint an assessor to the learner. The assessor will support the learner to develop their portfolio during the qualification. Then they will carry out an induction, this can be completed on-site or remotely.
Through the induction, the assessor will assist the learner in planning out how they can gain all the evidence required to complete the qualification. They will also continually evaluate them to ensure that they on track and to check if they need any guidance.
The qualification will assess a learner’s competence in their current job role. Learners must be at least the age of 16 and be working as a Plasterer.

What does the NVQ Level 2 in Plastering course cover?
The learner will be assessed on-site through a variety of methods, such as professional discussion, written questions, witness testimonials, observations and evidence generated from the workplace.
If the learner wants to follow the (Solid – Basic) pathway; learners must complete the mandatory units. They must also choose from the (Solid – Basic) optional units to gain the qualifications minimum credit value.
If you would like to go down the (Solid – Full) pathway you will need to complete the mandatory units. You will also choose from the option of (Solid – Full) optional units to gain enough credits to have the minimum requirement.
On completion of the qualification, the learner will be able to show that they are knowledgable and competent in their profession.
What is Required to Pass the NVQ Level 2 in Plastering?
Learners will need to achieve all of the units to show that they are competent enough to hold the NVQ qualification. The assessor will then examine their work and present any feedback. Once the leaner has returned their feedback, an IQA will then get the portfolio. The IQA will have the final decision on whether the qualification is complete or if any additional evidence is needed.
Is this course CITB Grant claimable?
On completion of the qualification, the learner will then be able to apply for their Skilled Worker Card. This card will be evidence of their proven competence.
Further qualifications include NVQ Level 3 in Plastering (Construction). Plasterers may also want to improve their safety knowledge by completing the Safe Use Of Ladders & Step Ladders and UKATA Asbestos Awareness courses.
