Why Take the Fire Awareness eLearning Course?
Did you know that around 70% of businesses fail within 3 years following a major fire? Keeping both your staff and assets safe in the event of a fire is a necessity for any business. The Nature of Fire
In the first section, we cover the nature of fire, including how it works and the different ways it can spread. We also look at smoke alarms, smoke and the dangers it poses. This introduction helps learners to understand what to expect from fire and smoke, helping in the process of keeping the workplace safe.
Health and safety signs can help save lives. They communicate important messages which can potentially prevent injury or give the necessary instructions on what to do during an emergency. This section looks at the different types of health and safety signs you might see in the workplace, helping learners to identify what each one looks like and what they mean.
Our Traffic Light System provides learners with an easy way to remember the different types of signs.
In the third section, we cover the potential fire hazards which can arise in the workplace, including ignition sources, flammables and combustibles. We also look at practices which must be implemented to avoid creating fire risks in the workplace.
The fourth section explains what actions to take in the event of an emergency, including raising the fire alarm, calling the emergency services and a step-by-step evacuation procedure. This section also looks at what to do if you are unable to escape in an emergency, including a demonstration of the ‘Stop, Drop & Roll’ technique.
Portable Fire Extinguishers
In the fifth and final section of the course, learners are taught about when it is safe to fight a fire and when it is not. We provide demonstrations on using the five most common types of fire extinguisher and fire blankets and which to use on different ‘Classes of Fire’.
Benefits of the Fire Awareness Training eLearning Course
The Fire Awareness Training eLearning Course is delivered via engaging, video-based eLearning. Unlike our classroom and online (remote) training, the eLearning Course does not have a live trainer, nor other delegates to interact with.
The key benefit of this is the ability to complete the course at your own pace, from any location. Whether you choose to get through all the material in one day, or spread over a few is completely up to you.
This also means there’s no need to attend the classroom, eliminating the need to travel and saving you time and money.
