What does IOSH stand for?

IOSH is short for the ‘Institution of Occupational Safety and Health’.

It’s the largest membership organisation and is the Chartered body for professionals in health and safety .

What is IOSH training?

We offer a variety of different IOSH training courses which are aimed at different types of job roles…

The IOSH Working Safely®  course teaches the delegate a basic understanding of their health and safety responsibilities.

Our IOSH Leading Safely®  is suitable for business leaders who need to have an understanding of the health and safety practices to protect their employees and the business.

The IOSH Managing Safely®  course is for managers who need to be up to date with the latest regulations and health and safety training for their workplace.

As public training,  you can complete all of these IOSH courses online. IOSH Managing Safely is also available as a classroom course at our training venues across the UK.

These courses are also available in-house for a group of your employees either delivered as an online course or at a venue of your choice.

Can I get a copy of my IOSH certificate?

By completing an IOSH accredited training course with 3B Training, you will receive a physical certificate.

If you require a copy of your IOSH Managing Safely certificate, or your Working or Leading certificate, contact us and we can arrange this for you. Please note that a replacement IOSH certificate will cost you £40.

Does IOSH expire?

Once you have completed your IOSH course you will receive your IOSH certificate which does not have an expiry. However, if you wish you refresh your knowledge, you can attend the course again.

Do you need a CSCS card if you have IOSH?

The IOSH Working Safely course was previously a pathway for getting a CSCS Green Labourer Card. However, this is no longer the case.

Alternatively, to get a CSCS Green Card, you can attend our CSCS Course, Test & Card training package. You will finish the course and test in one day. It’s the quickest way to obtain your CSCS labourer’s card online.

Another route to getting your CSCS Green Card is by completing the CITB Health & Safety Awareness. However, this is only one step towards getting your card. You will also need to take the Health, Safety and Environment Touch Screen Test at your nearest Pearson Vue centre

How can I check my IOSH certificate?

Checking your IOSH certificate is a simple process. You can do this online through IOSH’s Training Certificate Centre.

A couple of details are required and once you submit these, it will show the training certificates you hold.

Employers can also use this system to verify what training their new employees have.

How much does an IOSH course cost?

Our public courses are available to book online via the links below…

Prices are excluding VAT. 

For in-house courses, the cost is subject to multiple factors such as which IOSH course you are booking, how many delegates are attending and the location where you would like the course delivering.

Is IOSH a recognised qualification?

Yes, IOSH is a UK based organisation that ensures health and safety is to a high standard throughout workplaces through their training courses.

Their courses are known for being some of the best general health and safety training courses that employees and managers can complete.

Is IOSH better than NEBOSH?

The IOSH accreditation and the NEBOSH accreditation are both highly respected. Each teaches the delegates the importance of health and safety.  Which one to choose depends on what you are looking to get out of attending a health and safety course.

We offer both the NEBOSH General Certificate and NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction training courses.

Is the IOSH exam multiple choice?

The Managing Safely IOSH course has multiple choice exam questions, along with a written answer section too.

The assessment for IOSH Leading Safely is to create an action plan for your companies review process, as well as completing a short written exam.

For the IOSH Working Safely Course, there is a written exam.

What jobs can I get with IOSH Managing Safely?

Completing the IOSH Managing Safely is useful for anyone who’s role requires having knowledge of their health and safety responsibilities.

Our Managing Safely IOSH course gives the delegate transferable knowledge that they can apply to different roles.

The online IOSH Managing Safely makes attending the course more convenient, as it eliminates spending time traveling to a venue to complete the course.
