NVQs – NVQ Level 2 in Steelfixing Occupations
The NVQ Level 2 in Steelfixing Occupations is intended for construction workers who work in steelfixing. The qualification will allow the learner to show their ability to work competently in their role and to the required standard.
Approx. 9 – 18 months
Who is it for:
Steelfixers who are looking to gain the Blue CSCS Card or Skilled Worker Card.
NVQ Level 2 in Steelfixing Occupations
During the NVQ process, the learner will be assessed on site on the evidence they supply to the assessor. Evidence can be supplied in a range of methods such as; witness testimonials, evidence generated from the workplace, professional discussion, written questions. The learner must complete the below mandatory units:
- Conforming to Productive Working Practices
- Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
- Handling, Moving and Storing Resources
Then the learner must earn the rest of their required credits from the below optional units:
- Bending and Cutting Reinforcement Steel to Shape
- Prefabricating Reinforcement Steel Sections
- Fixing Steel in Situ
There is also an option to add the below additional units to your qualification, please note that these will not contribute to your minimum credit requirement.
- Hand Signalling and Slinging the Movement of Suspended Loads
Learners require to be in full employment and be the age of 16 or above. Before the NVQ begins the learner will be contacted regarding a sign-up meeting. They will also complete a suitability assessment over the phone.
